Katoiz

vlag NL

KatoizKatoi is a game of colours and shapes with which piles of tiles can be formed which have corresponding elements (in colour or depicted shape). Most of all, Katoi is a game of strategy, which draws upon mathematical skills in every stage. Starting with distinction of different elements and identifying similarities, Katoi offers a nice introduction in the basic elements of mathematics.

Tower of tiles

The tower of tiles appeals to the youngest players. Toddlers start searching for correspondence in size, colour and/or form between their own tile and the tiles from the stack. They can build a tower with the tiles with matching characteristics.

Triple

In Triple, 36 tiles are displayed face up. Using a colour dice and a pictures dice, you try to collect as many triplets (three tiles with at least one characteristic in common) asp possible. Apart from a bit of luck from the throw of the dice, you will require the power of logical reasoning to gain the advantage. This variant is a nice mix of luck and insight that results in a quick gameplay. The different levels within this game are appealing variations built on the same mechanism. Highly recommended for parents looking for having fun with their children in a versatile game.

Pile of four

In Pile of four the playground is a square made up from 36 tiles. In this game the goal is to build a high home stack. This is accomplished by walking with tiles across the playground according to walking rules. This variant especially requires tactical skills and spatial acuity. It is by far the most strategic game. This original strategic brain game appeals to older children and their parents. But do not be surprised when your child outsmarts you!
